Youth Group

We exist so that 6th - 12th grade students can grow in their faith each week. Our youth group is designed with students in mind and features an enjoyable and fun environment with Biblical teaching that can be practically applied to everyday life.

What is youth group like?

Our youth group meets on Sunday nights (5pm-6:15pm) in our gym. Students start off with some games, a small group discussion time, and then hear a message from Pastor Jeff that is engaging and practical. At youth group there are plenty of amazing events throughout the year like monthly activities, summer camp, all-nighters, mission trips, and more! Everything we do is geared towards building relationships and helping young people commit to serving Christ.

WHy come to youth group?

We understand that the teen years can be hard enough and we want to be there to help you through it. So we strive to express three core truths to each teenager who attends each week or is just visiting for the first time.

God Loves You

Unfortunately, the world promises love based on performance, looks, likes, or some other form of acceptance. But not God. He gives His love away freely. We believe that the love of God for each individual student is stained deep into the pages of the Bible by the blood of Christ, so we desire to saturate each Youth Group service in that reminder. Because God really does love you.

God has a plan for you

Once again, our world tries to reduce our existence to accident or evolution and in doing so devalues our Creator’s call to us. We desire to teach that God’s redemptive love has a purpose for each individual, and that His purpose for our life is never second best. It’s actually what we were made to do.

God’s plan for you involves others

We believe that life is better when you have others to encourage you along the way. That’s what Youth Group is all about. Creating a community of students who grow together and encourage each other towards the next step in their Christian journey, regardless of where they are right now.

warriors basketball

Many guys are not able to make their school's basketball team or don't like the team's environment but would still like to play against other schools on a JV or Varsity basketball team. At HBC, we make that possible.

Our guys basketball teams compete against private schools in the area while maintaining a good Christian atmosphere in our games and practices.

Any guy, 6th - 12th grade who is a part of the HBC youth group is eligible to play on one of our teams! If you want more information, contact Coach Jeff at 231-203-4144 or jeffthompson@hbcga.org.
