Our Beliefs

God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

We believe in the deity of Christ; in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the Cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His presence at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father, the Son and the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin, judgment and righteousness; that He seals, endures, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer. The Holy Spirit fills the believer; empowering him for soul-winning service. We believe that present day tongues speaking is not a viable gift for this present age.

Scripture

We believe the Bible to be the revealed Word of God. We believe the Word of God is verbally and plenarily inspired in the original writings, and that God has preserved His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8). We believe the Word of God to be inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, as found within the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use. We believe the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people (Psalm 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:19-21). The Bible is our sole and final authority for faith and practice.

man

We believe that men and women were created in the image of God, and that because of the sin of our common ancestor, Adam, we are born with an inherited sin nature. We believe that because of this nature, men and women are sinners by choice, are both physically and spiritually dead, and are totally incapable of reforming or ceasing from sin by their own power. They are thus separated from God.

Salvation

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the salvation of lost and sinful men and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential. We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God. Therefore, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger and helplessness and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all sufficient Savior.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that the saved are saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

Biblical Separation

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (II Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 12:1, 2, 14:13; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1).

Christ's Return

We believe the “Blessed Hope” of our Lord’s return is literal, personal, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pretribulational. Believers will be caught up to be with the Lord prior to the seven years of tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6; Psalm 89:3-4).
